A COLOURFUL display of wildflowers at the Collie Visitor Centre provides a sample of flora that can be found while out and about in the region.
The display, organised by Forest Explorers guide Alison Melvin to mark wildflower season, also provides a chance for those unable to take to the trails to get an up-close look at local flora.
Species on display include blue leschenaultia and kangaroo paw.
Mrs Melvin said it is a good year for orchids.
“The jarrah is also about to flower, which will be a mass bloom,” she said.
“The Collie Visitor Centre has trail maps, and any trail is good for wildflowers.”
Centre manager Kerrin Michalak said a stunning selection of wildflowers can be found in Collie at this time of the year.
“This is a wonderful display to let everybody know what wildflowers are in the Collie region,” Ms Michalak said.
The display will run through to October 4.
