¶ PREMIER Coal recently marked the significant milestone of producing 100 million tonnes of coal at its current location.
The miner began operations at the Premier mine site in 1996, and in the 29 years since has produced coal primarily used to power the South West Interconnected System.
Premier operations manager Braedon Gaske said the miner is “proud to be a strong part of Collie’s history and future”.
“Reaching 100 million tonnes is a testament to the tireless effort of our workers and the continuing support of our local community for the past 29 years,” Mr Gaske said.
“We’re equally proud of our rehabilitation initiatives, like Lake Kepwari, which demonstrate our long-term vision for environmental stewardship and community benefit.”
