¶ SOUTH Regional TAFE Collie students have been hard at work on a group project to create a colourful new trail for not-for-profit horse-riding school HorsePower.
The students have chosen an “Alice in Wonderland” theme for the 20-minute trail in one of HorsePower’s paddocks and are seeking donations of materials to build obstacles.
Lecturer Sally Young said the students have been tasked with collaborating, resourcing and planning the project throughout the term, which came about after they approached HorsePower about volunteering.
“The students are now resourcing materials to create props,” Mrs Young said. “Next is creating the props and then taking them out there and putting them where they need to go.”
The students are aiming to finish the project in time for HorsePower’s Winter Games in the July school holidays.
Donations of materials are being sought, including outdoor paint, paint brushes, cable ties, gloves, outdoor sealer, long wood nails, wood screws, old door locks and keys, fan blades, wire mesh, old chairs, teacups and more.
Further information is available via Mrs Young or Amanda Davidson at the Collie TAFE campus.
