Tidy Towns check for Collie

¶ KEEP Australia Beautiful Council members Sam Culbertson and Hayley Parke were visitors to Collie last week to discuss the town’s entry in the 2025 Tidy Towns Sustainable Communities Awards.
Collie has consistently performed well in the annual competition, but this year’s entry has been delayed by the incapacity of committee chairperson Nola Green.
Ms Culbertson urged Mrs Green to submit an entry this year, although entries are due this Friday.
She said that due to Mrs Green’s recent spell in hospital, judges would accept a late entry under these circumstances.
Mrs Green said that each year, there are projects which deserve some recognition, including the Collie Rotary Club’s annual litter pick-up on Coalfields Highway.
The visitors caught up with Mrs Green at the Coalfields Museum and Historical Research Centre, which forms the heritage section of the town’s entry in the annual competition.
