Reeves gets the Easter chocolates
2 min read

TERRY  Reeves collected the major share of the chocolates in the Collie Golf Club’s Easter-themed captain’s stableford last Saturday.
Reeves produced a barnstorming finish on the front nine to post 38 points for a well-deserved win in a field of 43.
Ian Stewart held on for the runner-up trophy, with the only other handicap-beating score of 37, pipping Tom Chappell, who is relishing his return to golf, with another top three finish on 36.
It was a day of moderate scores, considering the sustained summer conditions, but it still produced a couple of highlights.
Jaydon Ellery eagled the first, and captain Graham Williams breezed around the course in a stylish 83 off the stick, resulting in a score of 40 to top the leaderboard, but relinquished the trophy as the sponsor.
Others to make the top 10 included Ken Tate on 35, followed by Jaydon Ellery on 34, while Neil Motion, Wayne Waywood and Kevin Ireland rounded out the vouchers on 33 apiece. Baxter Miller, Wayne Waywood and Terry Reeves won two novelties, with singles going to Ron Annandale, Michelle Tate, Tom Chappell, Greg Bell, Trevor McCormick, Ken Tate, Jodie Allison, Ian Stewart and Jaydon Ellery.
A FIELD of 29 players took to the course on leisure day for the final round of the Cariboo Cup, sponsored by John Sheppard.
Joel Simmonds played very well to take out the last daily award, with an impressive display to return 40 points.
Kevin Ireland continued his consistent form with 37, followed by John Brown and Trevor McCormick with 36 each.
David Carter was alone on 35, Charlie Buemi and Brad Young got a mention for 34, and Wayne Waywood was rewarded for his 33.
The monthly special award was won by the consistent, regular Narrogin member Charlie Buemi, who amassed a tally of 125.
Novelties went to Colin Giblett, John Williamson, Terry Ellery, Phil Rabjones and Greg Bell.
TERRY Ellery saluted the judge, winning last week’s scroungers with a great return of 22 points.
In a very close, high-scoring affair, Ellery made the most of his opportunities to just eclipse his playing partner Brad Young by a single stroke, with his four-ball best ball winning partner from the previous week returning 21.
Kevin Ireland had another top three finish on 19.
The trio of Eric Annandale, Tony Barker-May and John Jackson had 18, and John Williamson, Jeff Crowe and John Wray rounded out the top scorers with 17 in a field of 33.
All the Terrys got in on the action, with Terry Reeves and Terry Massara taking out the novelties.
THE weekly nine-hole ladies’ event attracted 20 players, with Lee Massara claiming victory.
Patti Law, Beth Chappell and Dot Lawrence did well enough to get a ball each.
