¶ THE WA Naturalists' Club had a packed itinerary on its recent visit to Collie, taking in the abundant flora and fauna across portions of the trails network.
Northern Suburbs Branch secretary Don Poynton said he was struck by the number of tourist attractions on offer and the potential for Collie to keep growing its tourism industry.
Club stop-offs included the Wellington Discovery Forest Centre, the Wellington Dam, Honeymoon Pool and Harris Dam, along with the Coalfields Museum and Historical Research Centre.
“Of the 16 people we had, I didn’t hear an unfavourable comment about what we did, what there was to do and the variety,” Mr Poynton said.
“We asked everybody what their favourite part of the trip was and there were about 10 different things.
“It wasn’t as if one thing stood out. There’s so much variety and everyone was satisfied and found something to their particular liking.”
